The Name:
As you can guess that's not really my name, but here's the story behind it. While in college my roommate for three years had the same first name as me. Other roommates found it annoying that neither one of us would answer when called, we always figured it was for the other person. So they started calling me by last name Fox, after that the "y" appeared, and it just stuck. Soon everyone was calling me Foxy and some of my friends parents didn't actually know my first name.
About Me:
I went to a small school and majored in Engineering, yep that geeky stuff you have to be really good at math and stuff. Fast forward 4 years, I'm graduating college and decide that since I'm going to have some time on my hands (I spent a lot of time studying), I wanted to learn how to quilt. Yep you read that right, quilt, no one I know quilts, I don't know how to use a sewing machine and I know nothing about the craft, but hey I can do this right? I took a class, learned that I loved it, but rarely have a reason to make one, so I try to make one any chance I get. I also like to scrapbook, I have a small Micheal's in my craft room...seriously, I could give Micheal's a run for their money. I think it's about the buying of the stuff and not the actual doing, but I guess after doing 100's of pages, I guess it's here to stay.
I have two kids Baby Fox is my oldest, he was born on Christmas morning, his birth story was a normal one and was born 20 hours after my first contraction.
Our newest edition, Mini Fox was born on September 9th, 2013 - 2 hours and 20ish minutes after my first contraction, yes you read that right, here's her story. It was quick and accidentally med free, but I wouldn't change it for anything.
Baby Fox love his sister so much it's ridiculously cute. He often times calls her Lovey.

ReplyDeleteI'm an engineer too! Mechanical, I almost did Electrical. My sisters gave me a sewing machine for my birthday last year. Six months went by and I didn't open it. The day I did, I too realized I loved it! It is so much fun! Great blog! :)

ReplyDeleteWe have so much in common! I'm a fellow engineer from a small university - what field did you major in? In high school all my friends called me "Blue" (some still do) because one friend couldn't remember my name when I met him and he wanted my attention - saw I was wearing a blue sweatshirt so yelled out "hey blue!" and I turned. It stuck after that. Your little foxes are adorable!
